Our tips for a close shave:
1. Choosing the right moment
By definition, a close shave requires maximum precision. So, to achieve it in due form, it is important to take all his time, choosing a time (morning or evening) where you are not in a hurry and where you will not be disturbed.
On the other hand, preferably shave right after the shower. Indeed, hot water can relax the skin of the face and soften the hair, which will facilitate shaving but also reduce the risk of cuts.
Namely, the moment of the shower is also perfect for a facial scrub. The objective: to unclog the pores of the epidermis and to release the hair stuck under the skin. What guarantee a close shave zero defects?
2. Choosing the right razor
The choice of the razor is also a decisive element to obtain a perfect close shave. First, rely on a razor quality, clean and new blades or sharp. A prerequisite for shaving in a simple and secure way.
As for the types of razors, two choices are available to you: the mechanical version (manual) or electric. If your choice is on the mechanical razor, choose a multi-blade model to cut all the hair at the root without forgetting any.
And if you opt for an electric lawn mower, choose a rotary-head tool that will perfectly match the contours of the face. Do not forget to add a shoe (from 1 to 3 mm high) to ensure a close shave chrome nickel.
3. Use a shaving care
Before any shave (and even more when it is close), it is essential to prepare well and protect the skin with a shaving care. Foam, gel, stick or shaving cream… Choose it according to your skin type and comfort.
In any case, once applied to the skin with a badger or even on the skin, all these products have about the same missions, that is to say:
- Soften the hair to facilitate the passage of the blades.
- Reduce the risk of micro-cuts.
- Act as a protective film between the epidermis and the razor blades to avoid skin irritation (dryness, tightness, redness, inflammation, pimples …).
4. Shave in the direction of the hair
To get a close shave, always start by shaving in the direction of hair growth, making slow and delicate movements from top to bottom. Then, apply a little shave again on the face evenly, then go back to work but now turn back or horizontally.
Above all, during the shave, do not hesitate to stretch your skin with your fingers and avoid going to the same place several times. This will limit the risk of cuts and irritations.
5. Apply aftershave
As soon as you’re done, rinse your face with warm water to remove shaving cream residue, then cold water to tighten pores and bring freshness. All you have to do is dry your skin with a clean towel, apply an aftershave to soothe the skin, and you’re done!
