Take a deep breath

One of the ways through which you can improve the health of your heart is by taking a deep breath. True relaxation is something that helps you relieve stress and calm down the tension in your body as well as in your mind. The activities that make you calm have a very positive affect on your heart. They relax the vessels of your blood as well as your heart, which results in a normal blood pressure. But relaxation is more like an art so it consists of activities other than watching TV. You can take calm yourself down by sitting quietly for 10-15 minutes. You can try to find a place and time that helps you keep all your interruptions at bay and make you picture a very calm, tranquil and peaceful environment. What you need to do is to master these breathing sessions. So that it becomes easier for you to inhale and exhale. You can even try to go for meditation or yoga. Just relax yourself by taking deep breaths. It is important if you want to improve the health of your heart.

Pack a tuna wrap

Another way through which you can improve the health of your heart is by packing a tuna wrap. William Castelli who is a medical director of a wellness program at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, said that one should skip a less-healthy protein such as lamb, pork or beef because it heightens the risk of cholesterol and saturated fat. Instead, one should go towards a learner protein that includes fish. So, avoid eating less-healthy proteins as they are detrimental for your health. If you are worried that you have to fish all the time then you do not be. There are many options in fish. You can try anchovies, herring, trout, sardines, mackerel, and canned white tuna.

Stop Smoking

It is one of the most important factors that contribute to the overall health of your heart. If you want your heart to remain healthy then you have to quit smoking at any cost. Since smoking is responsible for increasing the blood pressure and heart rate which ultimately leads to blood clot formation, so avoid it as much as you can. Try to fend off your craving to smoke by keeping yourself busy and engaged in tasks. Go for Loafer zone. You can do it. You are stronger than your habit. Don’t allow it to control you.

Skip the late, late show

If you want to improve the health of your heart, you have to get sufficient sleep. You have to sleep well so that you can be more productive and healthy. According to National Sleep Foundation, those who don’t get a sufficient sleep are at a higher risk for a cardiovascular disease—irrespective of exercise habits, weight, and age.
